Choosing a Confirmation Name offers you an opportunity to make a statement as to who you are as a person of faith. It is also an opportunity to find a saint who speaks to you, a Saint who inspires you and someone whose life can serve as a sign post along your own faith journey. There is a rich history in our faith of God re-naming those he has chosen to send on a mission. Choose this Saint wisely because you will carry their name and learn to pray for their help for the rest of your life.

Worship Notes require Mass attendance, participation and the ability to look up the readings so you can study them and consider the meaning of the reading in regard to the events of your life at this time. I've included some information concerning looking up scripture in the Bible just in case that is something with which you are unfamiliar. Worship Notes are due prior to the Sunday following the date of the Mass you were required to have attended for Confirmation.

The letter to the Bishop is important. The Bishop does read them and it gives him insight not only to you but into the minds of young Catholics. Please take this seriously and don't leave it until the last minute.
How to Write a Letter to the Bishop
Confirmation Service projects should help you connect your faith to your service to the Church, Parish community and community at large both for people with whom you are familiar, and people to whom you might be a stranger.
In either case you have an opportunity to be Christ to them. There are several required participatory service projects and a menu from which you can choose opportunities to serve using those talents and gifts with which God has graced you. some of these require more than a one time period of activity and others are single shot opportunities.

Confirmation Sponsors are an important part of the Confirmation process. We ask that Sponsors and Candidates get together twice at least before the joint Confirmation Session and actual Confirmation Date with the Bishop in May. Below is some info we hope will help you choose your Sponsor wisely, some info about the requirements, a form to let you ell us who they are and an assignment book for the minimum two meeting you have with them outside of the Confirmation Class schedule. Those meetings often yield great conversations. The right Sponsor will be honored to have been asked. They should be someone you'd feel comfortable talking to about your faith, someone whose commitment to their faith has impressed you and someone in whom you can see the grace of Christ and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
